Friends and Family

We went on vacation with some great friends that I consider family. Caitlyn had her papa all weekend and all of us knew it. She was even calling papa on the phone when we got home.

The big comfy chair in the village.

Mia, Caitlyn and Logan ice skating but with no ice skates... Hum, interesting.

Swimsuit and Ski boots all in one day...

Easter on the road

The Easter Bunny is able to find kids anywhere and Caitlyn learned that this year... Somehow that Easter Bunny found her while on vacation and still managed to spoil her. The only thing that is not in the picture is the gigantic pink duck!

Caitlyn's Vacation time

This is the only way we could get Caitlyn to nap while we were in Colorado.

and we were not to happy to see the easter bunny

The view from our Condo! It was a great time had by all.

Spoiled Little Girl?

Okay, so everyone who knows Chris will attest to the fact that he was not going to have a spoiled daughter. Well, I think that everyone needs to tell him I told you so. Caitlyn (or should we say Dad) just had to have this new toy. This little girl has her daddy all figured out and if she wants something, she gets it. But I have to admit she is darn cute on the trike.

She is trying really hard to get feet to peddle but so far it isn't doing anything but getting her extremely frustrated. I don't think it will be long at all before she is peddling by herself. Man this girl has determination.

18 Month Pictures

Well, this past week we attempted 18 month pictures twice. Yes, twice and the second time was not any better then the first time even after getting drugs for the ear infection! On Saturday morning Mom and I attempted to go and get pictures taken again. On the way into the mall, Caitlyn was in a great mood. She was bouncing like a bunny and laughing. We walked into Picture People and she was still in a pretty good mood. Then all of the sudden she grabbed by hand and tried to pull me out of the store. That started it all over again. I have attached the pictures from Picture People's web site and as you will see, we could only get 6 pictures out of the bunch taken and half of them aren't even that good. I have heard horror stories of how the 2 year pictures will go, at this rate I think I might just skip them!!!!

Mad little girl

On Wednesday we attempted to have her 18 month pictures taken, man was that a disaster. She stood where the girl wanted her for one picture and then decided she wasn't going to have anything to do with that again. I would put her back on the red dot and then she would run to my lap again. We tried everything we can think of, I left the room, then Chris had to leave the room leaving my mom to try and get to to cooperate and that didn't work either. Needless to say, we struggled to get a few happy pictures and then I gave up and said we were done.

When I get the link from Target I will send them out and everyone can see. I wanted to just re-do the pictures another day but Chris found a couple that he wanted to order so we placed an order. I still might try to get some happy pictures.

Last night I found the reason why she was acting that way, nasty ear infection! Just before we leave to Colorado she gets an ear infection again. Hopefully she will be a happy girl by then because that 12 hour drive will be hard to take if she is crabby!

So last night after we got home from the Dr, she wanted to go outside to play with Faith and Grace. Well of course, if Faith and Grace can do something so can she so off we went stomping through the mud puddles and climbing the last remaining snow piles. It was a blast and I love the fact that she can experience things like this. But man did she get pissed at me when I wouldn't let her go knee deep in the snow/water/mud of the sand box. She wanted to do what Grace was doing but of course she didn't have long enough arms to run the rake through the snow/ice river and not get soaking wet. Gracie, I can't wait for her to get to be your age and have as much fun in life as you do! I just hope I can give Caitlyn the experiences in life like the neighbor kids do, they are some lucky kids that have great parents that aren't afraid to let them adventure.

Hopefully tonight goes better for us with 24 hours of medicine in. :)

And they are off...

Caitlyn and the kittens are get a workout in our house. The video isn't the clearest but you will get the picture...

I'm a big girl now...

Pretty soon I will be big enough for these shoes! This is a new trick that Caitlyn started and she walked around the house for ever in my shoes.

As of this morning, we are a big girl that doesn't need a booster seat. At least that is according to Caitlyn, we have a few other things to say about that.

Weekend with Family

Caitlyn with Charlie and Madie celebrating Charlie's 2nd real b-day!

This past weekend was a blast and so good to get away! Due to my bad luck of having to work all night on Wednesday, my boss gave me Thursday and Friday off so we headed to WI on Thursday morning to surprise everyone early. Of course since I was up at work all night, I crashed in the front seat and Chris had to drive and keep Caitlyn occupied until she fell asleep also. But they did well from what I was told.. I don't remember much of the trip up!

My highlight for the weekend was that Chris finally stopped at the Amish furniture place we have driving by a million times in rural WI and ordered a bedroom set! I can't wait for it to be done but he won't have it built for at least 6 months! We all know time flys so before to long it will be ready.

Caitlyn had a blast playing with cousins and getting spoiled by Aunt Michelle! We got home last night and Caitlyn found the plates that Michelle bought her and carried them everywhere. Caitlyn also got to see Grandpa and Grandma Bowe. Papa took her and Chris on a little trip with him and she was so excited to go Bye-bye.

I don't know if Chris has a highlight of the weekend other then getting away from Waukee and the snowplow! If anyone can believe it, we did not come home with any Lienenkugel's clothes or beer. We did however come home with 1 Spotted Cow glass that he had to have. For Chris that has to be a record for not visiting the Leinie's shop. Way to go Hon...

We can't wait to make the trip again and hopefully it will be sooner than later.
